An ADO is abbreviated for ‘Accumulated Day Off ‘, which is time accumulated by working over the standard daily hours in no less than 15 minute blocks. As per current Public Service Acts (PSC) , only those public servants in the job Classification range of AO1-AO8 (or equivalent) can credit time towards and ADO.

Currently we are only allowed to accumulate a maximum of 21 hrs 45 mins, but may very from department to department. The rules in my organisation is that my manager / supervisor has to approve this ADO time off at the convenience of the work unit before I can take the ADO!
